Telescreen : Facebook

Facebook gives any one easy access to your information. Especially because we past everything we do, see, and even think. Everyone can see what you post, therefore you are constantly being watched, much like a tele screen.

Telescreen : Surveillance cameras

Surveillance cameras watch everything we do and even keep a recording of it. It is without a doubt the most similar thing to a telescreen. Though it  can be avoided, there is usually a multitude of them placed at every angle.

Thought Police : Undercover cops/Spies

Undercover cops are just like O’Brien. They work in secret to catch you in an act much like O’Brien. They seem to be more manipulative, than actually helping around.

Wikipedia : Ministry of Truth

Wikipedia resembles the ministry of truth because of its false information. The way Winston is made o alter the news, anyone can alter the things that are read in a Wikipedia article. Most people are aware of this, yet still decide to resort to the website.

Texting : Newspeak
                         http://nyulocal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/texting.jpg

Texting is most similar to newspeak. We abbreviate every word, and even alter the meaning of other words. However, this isn’t a good thing. Most people become ignorant to modern English language and begin to use texting abbreviation even in person.
